What is a piston pump?
A piston pump may be old-school, but it’s brilliantly simple. The pump operates with – you guessed it – a piston that moves up and down in a cylinder. This motion draws water in and then pushes it out. That makes a piston pump ideal for situations involving deep suction or heavily contaminated water, where other pumps fail. Unlike a centrifugal pump, which relies on speed and flow, a piston pump works with brute force and volume. Not glamorous, but effective. Just what you need on a muddy construction site with wellpoint dewatering or drainage.
